This afternoon I had a pocket of time while Z slept. Supper was simmering away on the stove so I took some puff-pastry out of the freezer and went to town. I had found a recipe for Apple & Brie Tarts on Pinterest a couple weeks ago, and I just couldn't resist. There is nothing extraordinary about the ingredients, but sometimes the simplest things are the most tasty. Add a little brown sugar, cinnamon, butter and egg-wash, and it is the best fall treat ever.
This weekend, it is Canadian Thanksgiving. I have so much to be grateful for. Yes, there have been challenges and heartbreak but there has also been seasons of great provision and joy. In the coming days I hope you experience the embraces of loved ones and partake in a table of plenty. May songs of thanksgiving accompany your comings and goings.
