This morning I went out to water my hanging basket of flowers and as I lifted my watering can, a pair of determined little eyes met mine.  A mama robin!  On my front porch!  Nesting in my moss covered basket!  While I watered my other plants she fluttered away to a nearby tree and I just couldn't resist taking a peak.  I did the old "hold the camera above my head, aim, shoot, and hope I got it" tactic.  When I turned the camera around to view the picture, I actually gasped when I saw 3 startling blue eggs just beyond the focused point.

I really don't think there is a shade of blue quite like a robin's egg.  Nature is just amazing.  I'll have to keep a quiet eye on this nest to see when these little ones hatch.
